Hi, my name is Alex.
My name is Alex Connors, and I am a student at High Point University in pursuit of a Sport Management major and a Spanish minor. I am an avid New England Patriots, Carolina Hurricanes, Atlanta Braves, and Chelsea fan. I would love to begin my career as a facilities and operations manager, as well as a design influencer in the world of sport.

Guest and Media Operations
2025 - 2025
Tournament Operations
FIFA Club World Cup
Part of the new and refreshed FIFA Club World Cup taking place in the United States. In this volunteer program, I took part in Media Operations specializing in aiding and assisting broadcasters and news writers in the press box to ensure satisfied and a welcoming experience. Guest Operations focused on the wellbeing and high class service FIFA delivers to its VIP and special guests attending the matches at Bank of America Stadium.
European Men's Lacrosse Championships
From 9 July to 19 July of 2025, I was a team member of the European Men's Lacrosse Championships hosted in Wroclaw, Poland. My focus was with the fans, especially in our Summer Lax Village, a fan tailgating outpost that boasts local vendors of Wroclaw, tents to accommodate fans and the 23 European teams between matches, and the Summer Lax Challenge for fans to enjoy whole being part of the action which involved table tennis, archery, lacrosse, and more. I was also the DJ and PA Announcer for our marquee matchups featured on the main field each night and assisted with game management through two other fields in the complex.

Projects
These are projects I have created as part of the design factor. All of these have been made within a 8-year period and show rapid progression of project creation, from 2015 to Project Gate City in 2023. Some projects may be incomplete, and to view these projects in person, the program requires an account to sign up. Video tours do not require an account.
Number One
Sonic Center (2015)
The first arena I constructed, Sonic Center is a small venue solely purposed for hockey. It features a large broadcasting booth and patio. This arena sparked my love for sport management at a young age.
Number Three
Term's Shirt Shop, T.S.S. Stadium (2019)
A combination of a Shirt Shop and Stadium, T.S.S. was a semi-business organization under my popular account. The stadium was made prior to GCC, but was eventually scrapped due to progression issues. The Shirt Shop was made as a business to promote my line of jerseys and clothes for hockey. T.S.S Stadium was my first arena to embrace ambient lighting and realistic texturization.
Number Two
Premiere Pediatrics Place "The Prem" (2019)
Created once again for the purpose of a team. The Prem is inspired by my dad's office, and to build what I think would represent his company as a stadium. This is when I began to use more realistic stylizations of building.
Number Four
Greensboro Coliseum Complex (2023)
Under the name "Project Gate City", this was a three year progression period of massive renovation. This is considered to be my magnum opus. GCC is based on a complex of venues in Greensboro, North Carolina, and features every venue except Piedmont Hall. The game was recently opened to the public and may be closed at certain times for events. It's the ultimate reason I am in the Sport Fellowship at HPU.
Number Five
Winston Salem Fairgrounds Annex (2024)
This is the newest project and the first one of my college career. The facility is based in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Home to the Carolina Thunderbirds, the annex seats 4,500 people. It started creation on November 03, 2023 and finished on February 22, 2024.
Education
2019-2023
High School
Greensboro Day School
I attended Greensboro Day School for all four years of high school. I was on the lacrosse and golf teams. I was also grateful to be part of the National Spanish Honor Society, Advocacy Club, Best Buds Club, and Paws for Paws Service Club.
2023-2027
Bachelor's Degree
High Point University
I am a student at High Point University. I am a brother of Alpha Phi Omega, Sigma Alpha Pi, and pursuing my Sport Management major and Spanish minor. I am gratefully honored to be part of the Sports Fellowship and Sport Management Association. I am proud to be on the 2023 and 2024 Dean's List for a 3.5 GPA and above.

Strengths (As Told by Peers)
Compassionate
I have always been there for everyone, hearing opinions, and supporting my peers through tough times. I believe that I would be a perfect fit in a team of highly qualified individuals with my passion, whether pitching in on ideas and opinions for the group, or making sure the work environment is positive.
Reliable
As a student, I have always been told to turn in my assignments and exams on time. I have stood by this for almost two decades of schooling, and have not backed down. Any task that I will be assessed with will be taken care of by the date it is due, and ensured to be my best work.
Social
I've always been told to be an outgoing person, and I would agree with that statement. My goal has always been to be friends and compatible with everyone, and will always stand by that statement. I will talk to any person needed, whether it's a friend or someone I have never met before. I will always be there to help and make small talk.
Strengths (As Told by CliftonStrengths)
#1 Futuristic
I would 100% believe this strength, even if it was on Clifton. I have always had a futuristic and visionary mindset with my designs, plans of schedules, and even with my schoolwork and testing. Everything I do is a futuristic mindset, and everything will be 100% by the future date.
#2 Strategic
As someone who is strategic, I am able to find loopholes, problems, or any other routes to get to a solution. In my design portfolio, one of the main issues was walking on the grass. Simple, put up an invisible wall. Or fencing. Loopholes can be patched, and my strategic skills can assist to fix them.
#3 Ideation
I am a person of many ideas. One of my biggest brags at HPU is that I was the motivator for a new LED ribbon across the Qubein Arena on the upper part of the bowl. This was simply a suggestion I put in my Sport Fellows application, and it was brought to reality. Possibilities are endless, and my mind always spirals with ideas.
#4 Competition
I am a big competitor, whether it's in sports or in the workforce. I strive to be #1 in any sort of assignment, whether it's opening gates for the VIP section of an arena, or having the flashiest PowerPoint presentation in the class to get me that perfect score. I've played sports all my life as well, which really roped in competition to my strengths.
#5 Adaptability
I have always been a "go with the flow" student and worker. If there's a hiccup, we fix it and move on to the next idea. I have the ability to take things as they come and discover new possibilities one day at a time. This is a perfect mindset for Sport Management, as anything and anyone can appear and change a whole perspective. Adaptability is very important.
Interests, Values, and Workplace Preferences (As Told by PathwaysU)
Interests
Enterprising
I always take leadership in a role no matter what situation and enjoy the ability to control situations, as well as create new projects and possibilities to promote the organization I work for.
Realistic
I enjoy the ability to be down-to-earth and know what will and will not work. While enjoying a futuristic mindset, it is important to be grounded with the ability to attain goals in a set amount of time.
Artistic
Every workplace on my resume has been a laid-back and relaxed environment with creative availability. However, I am very open to spontaneous situations and problems that may occur.
Values
Achievement
People with this value seek the ability to make the most out of their job and a sense of accomplishment to their work. This relates to me because I try to make every day the best day possible, and with satisfaction from others, I can consider the day a success.
Independent
People with this value seek work that is their own, creative, and with their own rules, and they desire the chance to make their own decisions in the workplace. This relates to me because I like to do things my way, and once I get told what to do, I spin it to how I like to do things.
Workplace Preferences
Innovation + Excellence
I want the workplace to take challenges and risks. I want to work in a place that has the future in mind and the highest quality possible. I would thrive in a workplace that rewards achievement and high quality. This would be relatable to the sport world because everyone is competing for a big trophy in the end, and there’s even a competition within the facilities to be the best of the best. I would enjoy working at a place that always treats each day as a blessing and offers the best possible work experience.
